Eyebolt installation and testing services

Safety Anchor eyebolts are a single attachment point for one user working in an area where there is a potential risk of a fall. The eyebolts are used in conjunction with a harness and lanyard.

All Safety Anchors eyebolts are produced and manufactured in accordance with BS EN795. All eyebolts are Drop Forged in Carbon Steel then galvanised or powder coated to the customers requirement. Eyebolts can also be produced in Stainless Steel where adverse or aggressive environmental conditions dictate the need. All eyebolts are proof tested to 10Kn prior to despatch.

An Identity disc is positioned behind all eyebolts stating that the eyebolt is for attachment of PPE only and the next date of inspection.

INSTALLATION
The installation of eyebolts will be carried out by our highly qualified personel. The positioning of the eyebolts in relation to the work activity will be specified by our competent person. The general factors to be considered are as follows:
The structure, both directly and indirectly, must be able to withstand the shock load of a person falling.
The user must be able to attach and detach him or herself without putting themselves at risk from a fall.
The anchor must not be positioned within 150mm of a structural edge.

MAINTENANCE/ RE-INSPECTION
BS EN795 states that eyebolts should be inspected and re-tested on an six monthly basis. Our examination involves the removal of the all eyebolts and a visual inspection of the eyebolts is carried out. The eyebolts are then re-inserted, with a new identity disc, and tested to a force of 5Kn for 15 seconds. A report of the finding of each eyebolt tested will then be supplied. Any eyebolts failing the re-test procedure will be removed. A certificate is then issued confirming that the anchors have been tested and examined in accordance with BS EN795.

Eyebolts can be coated in any colour, dependant on availability, to match even the most obscure colour schemes. Eyebolts can also be coated in fluorescent coatings for use around factories where it is important that the attachment point is visible.

Cavity wall construction / Poor solid brickwork eyebolts are designed for internal or external use. Bolts are secured though the cavity wall and secured mechanically using a backplate and washer. Produced in stainless steel, galvanised or plastic coated. Can be installed to new or existing buildings with minimal disruption. All bolts are tested prior to installation and after installation to EN795 and certified.
